Stationsquare South - ROC

The South square of Apeldoorn central station is the counterpart of the North square designed by Baljon landscape architects. The northsquare provides a reception area of the city and showcases the nature of the surrounding landscape. The southsquare on the other hand is a more dynamic space of flows and movement and has a diffusse space form. The square forms a connection between the station and the large ROC building to the east. The main spatial concept of the square has the aim to provide a well balanced link between the two and to provide a square that forms a logical counterpart for the north square. The architectural design of the tunnel wall and all other furnishing elements were part of the design.
